The Archive of the Archdiocese of Salzburg and the International Mozarteum Foundation are working together to catalog and digitize the historical materials of the Dommusikverein und Mozarteum (Music Association of the Cathedral and Mozarteum), founded in 1841. In 1880, the association divided itself into two institutions: the Music Association of the Cathedral (today “Dommusik Salzburg”) and the International Mozarteum Foundation. At that time, the important library was divided and distributed according to the needs of the two institutions. With minor losses the materials are now housed in the Bibliotheca Mozartiana of the Mozarteum Foundation and in the Dommusikarchiv of the Archives of the Archdiocese of Salzburg.
The project is part of the Digital Mozart Edition (DME), a collaboration between the International Mozarteum Foundation and the Packard Humanities Institute in Los Altos, California. The project leader is Dr. Ulrich Leisinger as director of the DME, the project manager is Dr. Eva Neumayr. She is supported by Dr. Armin Brinzing, director of the Bibliotheca Mozartiana, Dr. Tobias Apelt (up to 30 June 2019), and Fabian Weidinger BA MA.
